2016 was an exciting year for clinical research and drug development. With the backing of big research initiatives like the federally funded Cancer Moonshot, clinical research kicked off on the path of groundbreaking developments. mHealth continued to dominate health technology trend last year, with ResearchKit enabled apps breathing momentum into research study recruitment and consent efforts. However, FDA approved drug numbers continue to point towards the stringent FDA approval process and failed trials brought down sponsor stock prices this year too!
