Plasma cell disorders like multiple myeloma, plasmacytoma, smoldering myeloma, MGUS are diseases in which the body makes too many plasma cells. These disorders have different symptoms, treatments, and prognoses. The myeloma panel is talking to Dr. Craig Hofmeister from Winship Cancer Institute on advances in treatments for early stage plasma cell disorders. The discussion would cover smoldering myeloma, focusing on updates from ECOG trial discussed at ASCO2019, treatments of newly diagnosed myeloma based on the results of CASSIOPEIA trial and use of precision medicine to treat patients in the first relapse, highlighting MYDRUG trial.

Atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema is a chronic skin condition that is estimated to affect between 10-20% of children but often appears in adults as well, particularly the elderly. Although there is no known cure for atopic dermatitis, flare-ups can nearly always be minimized and sometimes prevented, and recent research has identified factors involved in its development that may lead to new treatments to control it more effectively. We explored the different types of atopic dermatitis, discussing their unique causes, symptoms and treatments with Dr. Zelma Chiesa Fuxench from University of Pennsylvania.
