We are excited to announce that CureTalks has launched a new format with a talk series on Covid -19 in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania. The new format moves away from the standard CureTalks radio pattern and introduces the panel on video.
The talk series on Covid-19 will be covering breakthrough studies and trials on Covid-19 happening at Penn. We will be talking to principal investigators of studies to understand trial protocols, eligibility criteria, mechanism of action of compounds (under investigation) and more. Each 20 – 30 mins episode of this series will have a patient advocate joining us in discussing the trial with the research team.
The series was kickstarted in June with a discussion on Convalescent Plasma Study with the principal investigator of the study Dr. Katharine Bar and patient advocate Cynthia Chmielewski. Since then, we have discussed the CORONA registry with disease hunter Dr. David Fajgenbaum and stem cell therapy with Dr. Nimesh Desai. Mike Scott, Jack Aiello and Heidi Floyd were the CureTalks panelists who joined in the discussions. The episode on hydroxychloroquine and PATCH trial with Dr. Amaravadi is awaiting release.
