For answers, we are turning to Dr. Parijat Deshpande who specializes in lifestyle medicine and guide women to lower stress and improve their overall wellness to have a safer pregnancy.

Dr. Parijat Deshpande is a leading high-risk pregnancy expert who guides women to optimize the mind-body connection to help them stay pregnant as long as possible so they can give their baby a strong start to life. Dr. Parijat is a clinically trained therapist, a women’s wellness expert and an experienced speaker on the impact of stress on health and wellness. She has over 4 years of experience as a Psychology Lecturer UC Berkeley and is the founder of MySahana, a South Asian mental health nonprofit. Dr. Parijat is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and is also a certified wellness coach, a certified stress management coach and a certified marriage educator.
Shweta is a biochemist, nutritionist, a diabetes educator, and a fertility advocate, passionate about science behind happenings of life. She finds deep interest in research, reading and writing on various medical/scientific issues of which fertility is close to her heart, being a survivor. Now a mom to a 3 year old, she struggled through 7 years of infertility to get her son through IVF. Her past experiences include research in cell biology, writing consumer articles for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry on subjects like preconception nutrition, infant and child nutrition, cancer, infertility, and assisted reproduction techniques including teaching biochemistry and diabetes pathophysiology. Having gone through the pains and emotional upheavals of infertility, Shweta wants to help as many people as possible to overcome the associated depression and guilt and reach the joys of parenthood, by educating through her research, discussions, and writings on this issue on CureTalks.
