Warren Buffet Completes Treatment for Prostate Cancer, ‘Today I had My 44th and Last Day of Radiation’

Warren Buffet was diagnosed with a slow-growing type of prostate cancer earlier this year and the Oracle of Omaha, announced the completion of his radiation therapy on Omaha World-Herald.
It’s a great day for me. Today I had my 44th and last day of radiation.
In April, when Warren Buffet announced his prostate cancer, there was lot of controversy as to why an 81-year-old man was screened for prostate cancer, against the USPTF’s recommendations against routine PSA screening of men 75 years and older. The test is believed to be unreliable in older men and the variation in reading of the PSA test could occur due to old age or enlargement of prostate.

Me: Warren Buffet has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He is 81. What do you think about this?
Dr. Ablin: From what I know from media reports, Warren Buffet was diagnosed with prostate cancer on the basis of having regular PSA tests. In the course of his regular PSA determinations, his doctors found a slight increase in his level of PSA, which prompted a biopsy revealing a small amount of cancer, perhaps in the category of a “turtle.”
Mr. Buffet is 81 years old, which suggests his cancer is age-related; and he probably will die from some other cause before he dies from prostate cancer.
Warren Buffet, turned 82 on August 30, is the richest man in the world since 2008.
