Pharmacokinetics Clinical Trials
Pharmacokinetics or PK is related to pharmacology, which is reaction of the human body with respect to any drugs. In detail the subject looks into the process of absorbing and distributing a new drug administered to the body. It also studyies the rate associated to the beginning and duration of action related to certain drug. The chemical reactions with respect to the administered drug are researched under the guidance of Pharmacokinetics.
The drug and body interaction is explained by several phases of Pharmacokinetics, these are known as LADME. LADME stands for Liberation, Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion. The study of Pharmacokinetics plays a major role in the development of new drugs and medicines.
Being a field of continuous research and development, scientists from various parts of the world are conducting studies on the area of Pharmacokinetics. Clinical trials for Pharmacokinetics are an important step in the development of new treatments and 21 clinical trials are currently active in the United State for Pharmacokinetics. These clinical trials are being conducted in 35 cities and are being performed by 19 different clinical trial investigators (doctors who conduct and supervise the clinical study). There are currently 25 different interventions being investigated in Pharmacokinetics clinical trials.
