As a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Biomedical Informatics, Columbia University, he has worked on several federally funded projects spanning a variety of domains, including informatics-based reengineering of research in community practices as well as developing decision support systems for promoting health behavior change. Earlier, Sharib co-founded iFood.tv, one of the largest web 2.0 food sites. He holds an MD from University College of Medical Sciences, India, an MA in Biomedical Informatics and a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University. Fun fact: An enthusiastic dancer, Sharib has recently been seen mixing hip-hop dance moves with yoga postures. |

Chintan Patel, PhDChintan Patel is Technology at TrialX. Chintan is an expert in biomedical semantic ontologies and natural language processing and manages all technology development at TrialX. Over 25 of his articles have been published in leading conferences and biomedical informatics journals. Earlier, he worked at IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Center, conducting research on ontology-reasoning and information extraction. Chintan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Gujarat University, India, an M.S. in Computer Science from University of Missouri, and a PhD in Biomedical Informatics (with honors) from Columbia University. Fun fact: While idling in his dorm room, Chintan’s code accidentally brought down the PubMed database. |

Vivek Garg, MBAVivek Garg is Business at TrialX. Vivek brings over eight years of business development, product management and startup experience in the technology and Internet sectors. Previously, Vivek was a Product Manager at Joost, a Sequoia Capital backed Internet video startup founded by the creators of Skype and Kazaa. At Joost, he was responsible for the development of all online advertising based revenue platforms. Earlier, he worked as an Analyst at MediaSentry, an online digital media startup, developing and implementing anti-piracy strategies for top record labels and motion picture studios. Earlier, he held business development and software programming roles at CMC Limited, a software technology solutions provider where he played a key role in the development of the Housing Finance Information and Automation System, a loan underwriting and asset management software solution. Vivek holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Maharishi Dayanand University, India and an MBA with a concentration in Venture Capital from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as the Chair of the 2008 Wharton India Economic Forum.
