1. What is TrialX?

TrialX is a free service that matches participants to relevant clinical trials based on their personal health information. TrialX uses a comprehensive database of 25,000+ clinical trials approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States.

2. Why should i enroll for a clinical trial?

There are several potential benefits and risks involved in participating in clinical trial. See why enroll in clinical trials?

3. What does your match score mean?

A potential participant enters medical and demographic information (or we automatically import from her personal health record). Each individual piece of information is considered as a 'constraint'. The match score is calculated as the percentage of constraints satisfied by the given clinical trial. For example,

Case 1: 100% Match (Excellent Match or Good Match)

AgeGenderConditionsLocationPhase
Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria: 35-65yrs Both Hypertension Maryland Phase 1
Participant entered information: 55yrs Male High blood pressure Baltimore Phase 1

Case 2: 80% Match (V Good Match)

AgeGenderConditionsLocationPhase
Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria: 35-65yrs Both Hypertension Maryland Phase 1
Participant entered information: 55yrs Male High blood pressure New York Phase 1

Case 3: 75% Match (Good Match or OK Match)

AgeGenderConditionsLocationPhase
Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria: 35-65yrs Both Hypertension Maryland Phase 1
Participant entered information: 55yrs Male High blood pressure New York -
If you match score is less than 50%, we ll show "Poor Match" and in that case the option to Contact the investigator will be disabled.

4. How secure is my personal health information?

At TrialX, we take privacy of your information very seriously. As mentioned in our privacy policy, we do not share your personally identifiable information with anyone.

5. Do you sell my personal health information?

No, we do not sell any personally identifiable health information. We only share aggregate statistical information (for example, number of patients found matching for a given criteria).

6. What does "Print and Ask your Doctor" mean ?

Once TrialX determines that you have a 100% match score (see above) - we provide you a customized printout of the entire clinical trial protocol based on your condition. In this print out we specifically highlight areas where we found a match for you, so that your Doctor can take a quick glance to determine your eligibility.

7. Does a match guarantee that I will be accepted in a trial?

We certainly hope so! However, clinical trials generally have very strict inclusion and exclusion criteria that often require further clinical examinations to determine your eligibility. TrialX strives to use the last drop of clinical information that you enter (or link from your personal health record) to find the BEST matching clinical trials. By eliminating the irrelevant clinical trials, our goal is to save yours as well as the investigators time towards screening eligible participants.

8. How much does this cost?

TrialX is a free service and will always remain free for participants! We are strong believers of consumer-driven health care. We believe that active participation of consumers is the only way to fix the sluggish clinical research infrastructure and accelerate biomedical research to keep our future generations safe and healthy.

9. How many trials do you match against. What is your source?

Our database currently has about 20,000+ ongoing clinical trials, which is continually updated. Our primary data source is the clinical trials government database at clinicaltrials.gov that provides a comprehensive list of clinical trials in the USA. We also list trials provided by our industry partner, CenterWatch. In addition individual trial sponsors, sites and investigators may list their trials on our site and all such sites are only listed after due verification.
