Why just on Valentine’s Day (14th February), make cuddling and kissing a part of your everyday behavior with your partner. Doing so not only ups your sense of companionship with your partner, but it is great for your health too as per a recent research published by a researcher at the Medical University of Vienna.
As per Huffington Post, hugging someone you care about can ease stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure and even boost memory. So go ahead and hug more often! But do remember to hug those you know or are fond of, since hugging a stranger or a forced hug has reverse health effects!
The positive effects between hugging and health isn’t new, though has greater relevance now with the upcoming Valentine’s Day and dipping temperatures. What better way to warm up than to hug, or even cuddle up! A cuddle is nothing but an extended hug, just requires a little more time at hand.

Non-verbal communication can be a very powerful way to say to your partner, ‘I get you’. Cuddling is a way of saying, ‘I know how you feel.’ It allows us to feel known by our partner in ways that words can’t convey.
How can a hug or an embrace improve one’s health? As per experts, it is due to the surge in the oxytocin level, aptly called the ‘love hormone’. Increased oxytocin levels have been linked to social bonding.
Other similar researches have shown that oxytocin has a greater calming effect on women than men.
As per a study published in the USA Today, even a brief hug in the morning, has a positive stress reducing effect. In fact it has the power to make a stress-filled day easier to tackle.

Don’t forget to kiss your partners often! The positive effects are similar to hugging and cuddling. Also a wet smooch can wash bacteria off teeth and help fight plaque buildup.
