And speaking of dear friends that I have met at support groups, I wrote a heartfelt post for the IMF this week about that:Multiple myeloma survivor, Joyce Schultz, contacted me on facebook to let me know that she is starting a new support group. The group will meet in Fairmont, Minnesota, which is located in the southern part of the state. AWESOME! I understand every patient and/or caregiver can’t get to a support group. There may not be one in the area, or they may not feel up to attending. But those patients and caregivers that can attend most always find they help. The information gleaned is often invaluable. The support found among others that share similar circumstance comforting. But what about the friendships that form among those of us that now have so much in common? Online support is awesome! But I do love those in-person hugs! So if you live in north central Iowa–or south central Minnesota–contact Joyce and maybe you can be a charter member!
