Are you over 70 years of age? Have an interesting story to share as a patient and/or caregiver?
If so, I would like to hear from you. WE would like to hear from you!
One of our regular readers–and a contributor to my third book–researcher and fellow myeloma patient, Gary Blau, made one heck of a suggestion a few weeks back. Gary tactfully pointed-out that most of the inspirational stories I ran featured younger (than average) myeloma patients.
Did you know that 70% of newly diagnosed myeloma patients are over 70 years old? So while I did just run a piece about 71 year old marathoner and myeloma survivor, Minnesota Don, Gary has a point.
Listen. I know there are thousands of myeloma heroes out there. I hear from them almost everyday. Stories of courage and determination. The bravest people I have ever met are caregivers–with a lot of myeloma patients coming in a very close second.
So here’s the deal. I know my readers don’t think of themselves are heroes or heroins. Heck, most of you probably don’t even think your stories are interesting or worth sharing.
I DON’T AGREE–AND I’M THE EDITOR IN CHIEF OF THIS SITE!
So please consider sharing your stories with us here at MultipleMyelomaBlog.com. Simply email me an outline, completed copy–or questions about how to proceed. 100 words or 1000. No story is too short or too long.
It can be about a single incident–or a more complete snapshot of your life. No rules here–although I do reserve the right to edit content a bit if need be.
COME ON! Gary (and a lot of other readers!) would love to hear from you–young or old!
