Florida Clinical Research Center is now enrolling in a clinical trial of an investigational medication for Adolescent Smoking Cessation 12-19 years (Bradenton, Florida). This research study is evaluating a drug that was approved in 2006 for smoking cessation in adults and an adolescent or teenager population. During the study volunteers will be assessing whether they can quit smoking cigarettes, reduce the number of cigarettes they routinely smoke and their long-term abstinence rate.
Key Eligibility
Qualified participants must be between 12 to 19 years of age and parents must consent for any adolescent/teen under the age of 18 and want to stop smoking.
Other important terms for being Eligible for this Trial are:
• Want to stop smoking.
• Currently smoke on a consistent basis.
Qualified participants will receive all the following at no cost:
• Study medication
• Visits with certified counselor
• Extensive support programs
• Physical exams
• Tobacco testing and other labs
Insurance is not necessary and you may be compensated for your time and travel.
