Hypotension Clinical Trials, New Treatments and Research Sites

The medical term, Hypotension refers to low blood pressure. It indicates that blood pressure is abnormally low than the normal status. As a result of this health condition, the normal flow of blood gets affected. Each and every part of the body receives less amount of blood causing serious damage to the respective area.

Low blood pressure or Hypotension can be the after effect of several health conditions like diabetes, heart problems, dehydration, mental shock etc. Sometimes low blood pressure is also caused by certain harmful medications such as anti-anxiety, diuretics, anti-depressants etc.

The symptoms of Hypotension include confusion, dizziness, fainting, sleepiness, blurry vision, weakness etc. Diagnosis of Hypotension is mainly done by monitoring the blood pressure. Certain additional tests might also be included in the diagnostic process, such as complete blood count, ECG, X-ray etc.

Hypotension without any symptoms often requires no treatment. However treatment is required when there are symptoms. The basic cause of Hypotension is treated to cure the symptoms. Medication, diet control and blood transfusion are used as treatment procedures depending on the severity of disease.

Researchers  are conducting various clinical studies in the area of Hypotension to find out more effective treatments. Clinical trials for Hypotension are an important step in the development of new treatments and 36 clinical trials are currently active in the United State for Hypotension. There are currently dozens of  different interventions being investigated in Hypotension clinical trials. These clinical trials are being conducted in 88 cities and are being performed by some 100 different clinical trial investigators (doctors who conduct and supervise the clinical study).
