Hello Cure Talk readers,
For the past 5 or so years, I get menstrual migraines every single month, for two days at the start of my menstrual cycle without fail. Ladies, if you get them too, then read on, I have deciphered the best home remedy that works for menstrual migraines.
Guys, if you have friends or loved ones that get menstrual migraines, please refer them here.
Every month, I used to take extra strength Tylenol but hated that I needed to rely on pills. I experimented with a few things and have found that these four natural, home remedies for menstrual migraines work best:
- Eat fresh vegetables: The week prior to getting my cycle, I would have pigged out on bread and chocolate (what I crave every month, it’s like clock work). So the week I start my cycle, I eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables and that helps lessen the intensity of my migraines.
- Exercise: I make it a point to drag myself to a Parkour class or open gym at the start of my cycle. Nothing in me wants to go anywhere, and I have less energy than I normally do, but if I drag myself to class then without fail, my headache is significantly decreased by the end of class.
- Push-ups in the morning: I do 30 push-ups the morning after the start of my cycle and at the end of my 3 sets of 10, my migraine vanishes.
- Extra rest: I also find I need extra rest and getting a little more sleep during the first few days of my cycle also helps decrease the migraine.
The migraine is not totally eradicated, I still feel some slight discomfort, but I can function normally and the best part of it is feeling my migraine melt away after I do those push-ups. Hope this helps you. Let us know what works for you. I’d love to read about it.
